Dholpur is the easternmost district of Rajasthan, situated near the Chambal River in the middle of two big cities Agra and Gwalior. It is the only Govt. college in Dholpur district where postgraduate courses are offered. It was founded in 1961 at the Tiwari Bagh Campus. In the beginning, only the graduation courses in Art and Commerce were available for the students. At that time the students had to join either Agra University, Agra, or Jiwaji University, Gwalior to pursue higher studies. Gradually, in 1967 graduation courses in science, in 1974 graduation courses in Law, in 1984 M.A. in History, and in 1989 M.A. in Economics were introduced. At present under the self-financing scheme M.A. in Political Science, Geography and Hindi are being offered.
